Statoil's Ethics Helpline now open for all
Statoil’s Ethics Helpline has until now only been available to Statoil employees. Now the helpline will be opened up to all that wish to express a concern related to our Ethics Code of Conduct, how we do business or how we meet legal requirements.
Statoil is one of the first companies in Norway to receive a license from the Norwegian Data Protection Authorities to open its Ethics Helpline to all.
"Statoil (STO) is determined to be known for its high ethical standards. In our opinion breaches of laws and our ethical requirements are a threat to our company’s competitiveness and reputation," says chief compliance officer Carine Smith Ihenacho.
It is therefore important to us to have an open dialogue on ethical issues both internally and externally. We expect our employees to speak up if they have questions or concerns related to our Ethics Code of Conduct, how we do business or how we meet legal requirements. We encourage our contractors and others with whom we come into contact to do the same.
The Statoil Ethics Helpline is an important tool in this respect. The aim of the Ethics Helpline is to provide a channel for individuals to express concerns regarding our business and ensure transparency for the company.
Reports can be submitted via telephone or through a web-based solution. Anonymity and privacy are safeguarded in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and all reports are processed within guidelines that ensure proper handling, monitoring and feedback in each case.
