Statoil to Conduct North Sea CCS Studies
The Norwegian government has asked oil and gas firm Statoil to conduct new studies on carbon storage on the Norwegian continental shelf, the firm said on Monday. Some 195 nations agreed last month in Paris to limit rising temperatures. Carbon capture and storage (CCS), which captures carbon dioxide and stores it underground so it won't slip into the atmosphere, is seen as an important tool to achieve that.
Accommodation Rig Contract for Johan Sverdrup
Statoil has, on behalf of the Johan Sverdrup licence, awarded a contract to Jacktel AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Master Marine AS, for providing accommodation services on the Johan Sverdrup field. Jacktel AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Master Marine A, located in Oslo/Norway, has been awarded a contract for the Haven jack-up accommodation rig for the installation and commissioning period for the Johan Sverdrup project phase 1.
Statoil's Ethics Helpline now open for all
Statoil’s Ethics Helpline has until now only been available to Statoil employees. Now the helpline will be opened up to all that wish to express a concern related to our Ethics Code of Conduct, how we do business or how we meet legal requirements. Statoil is one of the first companies in Norway to receive a license from the Norwegian Data Protection Authorities to open its Ethics Helpline to all.
