Evergas Acquires first Multigas LNG vessels

July 14, 2015

Evergas’ latest additions to its fleet, two ‘dragon class’ 27.500 cbm multigas LNG carriers, were successfully named today at a ceremony at the Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (SOE) shipyard in Qidong, China. The state-of-the-art carriers were named JS INEOS INSIGHT and JS INEOS INGENUITY.

Both vessels bear a distinct dragon symbolizing their Chinese and Western heritage. The dragon chosen to sail and protect the 1st
vessel JS INEOS INSIGHT is the King of Fire, reflecting a strong, vigorous and steadfast future ahead. For our 2nd vessel JS INEOS INGENUITY the dragon chosen to sail and protect is the King of Water, reflecting strong fortunes for the future ahead.

Worlds’ largest Multigas LNG-Ethane Carriers

The vessels are the largest, most flexible and advanced multigas carriers built to date. Strong relations, strategic focus and an innovative approach between Evergas & INEOS have been key elements that allowed for the creation of a seaborne pipeline bringing U.S. ethane across the Atlantic Ocean to Europe. They are a result of close collaboration with world-class makers with whom the development of these sustainable, efficient and highly advanced vessels were made
possible.

Guests at the ceremony included INEOS Chairman Mr. Jim Ratcliffe together with his partner and Godmother to JS INEOS INSIGHT Mrs. Maria Alessia Maresca, Director of INEOS Mr. Andy Currie together with his wife and Godmother to JS INEOS INGENUITY Mrs. Dawn Charmaine Currie, Swiss ambassador to China Mr. Jean-Jacques de Dardel, JACCAR HOLDINGS Chairman & CEO Mr. Jacques de Chateauvieux, members of the vessels crew, and representatives from Evergas, INEOS, SOE, and their respective business relations.
