Eni to Shut Goliat Field in Sept for 3 Weeks

Posted by April 21, 2017

Italy's Eni plans to shut its Goliat oilfied in the Norwegian Arctic for 2-3 weeks in September to fix operational problems, Norway's oil safety watchdog said on Friday.

The world's northernmost oilfield in production started operations in March 2016 but these have been interrupted several times due to technical issues.

Eni said the shutdown plan was submitted to the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority in March, said a spokeswoman for the safety watchdog, adding that there would be another shutdown in 2018, without adding further detail.
