Petrobras executive: 'The new discoveries of Petrobras are significant'
Sylvia dos Anjos, exploration and production director at Petrobras, said that the discoveries made this year by the Brazilian state-owned oil company Petrobras in the Campos Basin and Santos Field and the Buzios Field are "significant".
Petrobras reported hydrocarbon discoveries at the Aram Block, located in Santos Basin, at the Norte de Brava Block in Campos Basin, and in a well in the western area of the Buzios Field.
Anjos said, "They're great." She added that she couldn't discuss volume because Petrobras is still conducting final tests. However, Anjos stressed that the new discoveries may push Petrobras' planned peak production by an additional year.
Anjos, who spoke on the sidelines a Rio de Janeiro event, said that the firm's management will also discuss this proposal for a charter of a new production ship for the Buzios area.
The tender, which would follow the build-operate-transfer model, could be made public in the first half of 2025 if approved by the firm's management. (Reporting and Editing by Gabriel Araujo, Frances Kerry)
