Xodus: A Rapid Pivot to Gas Needed

Xodus Group launched a new analysis showing that a rapid pivot to gas will be required to deal with rising global energy demand.In contrast to some recent future energy scenarios, Xodus believes worldwide energy consumption will continue to increase, driven by economic growth in developing countries, and that approximately half of that demand will need to be fulfilled by natural gas.The ‘Rapid Pivot to Gas’ report by Xodus’ Advisory team, demonstrates that under this model, approximately $20 trillion would need to be spent on natural gas exploration and production over the next 20 years.

Xodus, Atlantis Resources Pursue Japanese Tidal Projects

Xodus Group’s Perth office has won more than A$3.5 million (£2million) in new contracts over the last six months. Xodus’ Asia-Pacific (APAC) region has had significant success in the growth of its decommissioning business, both in Australia and South-East Asia, where the company has established relationships with several key players. The company has also enhanced its digital production optimization and monitoring tools. Xodus Delivers Tunisian Decommissioning study for TPS

Xodus Group has delivered a decommissioning and abandonment study for wells, surface and subsea facilities in Tunisia on behalf of Thyna Petroleum Services (TPS). Xodus developed a decommissioning cost estimate for four onshore fields, one offshore field and two onshore storage and processing sites. The six-week study provided a high-level risk and opportunities assessment and reviewed regulatory and environmental aspects for facility and infrastructure removal. Offshore Decommissioning: New Reefing Solution Unveiled

While the reefing of retiring offshore structures makes sense to many, such projects often struggle to address the regulatory hurdles, public perception and who takes the enduring liability for the asset, says decommissioning specialist Xodus Group, who has teamed with stabilization and artificial reef specialist Subcon International to offer a new solution. The partners say their Integrated Rigs to Reefs (IR2R) solution will be available globally to resolve challenges owners face by augmenting and integrating the retiring assets into purpose built reefs.

Xodus Wins Two ESIA Contracts in Senegal

Xodus Group sai dit has been awarded two Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) contracts for projects in the Rufisque Offshore, Sangomar Offshore and Sangomar Deep Offshore (RSSD) blocks in Senegal, West Africa. Salardi to Lead Xodus’ Decom Division

Xodus Group said it has appointed Enrico Salardi as its decommissioning director to lead the company’s ‘decom division’ which was formed in 2015. Salardi brings to the role more than 20 years’ experience in the management of oil and gas assets, joining Xodus from operator Quadrant Energy where he was senior project manager for a number of decommissioning programs in Australia. Throughout his career, Salardi has managed many projects in various phases of their lifecycle around the world, including Italy, Nigeria, Norway, Libya, Croatia, Egypt and Australia.

Xodus wins Subsurface Contract with Cairn Oil and Gas in India

Xodus Group won a contract with Cairn Oil and Gas of Vedanta Ltd. to conduct exploration and appraisal work on its Rajasthan block in north-west India over the next two years. The first stage of the work will focus on delivering new drilling prospects and an exploration drilling plan, in partnership with Cairn Oil and Gas’ in-house team. Subsequent stages, which will likely commence in 2018, will require project management of the drilling programme in the field as well as subsurface analysis of drilling results.

Midia Gas Development FEED Contract Awarded

Black Sea Oil & Gas SRL  awarded, together with its co-venture partners, the contract for the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) of its Offshore and Onshore facilities for the development of Ana and Doina Gas Discoveries on XV Midia Shallow Block, offshore Romania. The successful contractor for the FEED contract is Xodus Group, an integrated services company, that spans numerous disciplines involved in delivering complex projects including subsurface, process and facilities, subsea and pipelines, flow assurance, wells, integrity, vibration, safety, risk, environment and commercial advice.

Xodus to Present Arctic Environmental Safety at Russian Conference

Delegates at an industry conference in Moscow, Russia this month will hear how Xodus Group’s integrated approach to oil and gas projects in the Arctic can ensure environmental safety while also minimizing costs. The ‘Russian Offshore Oil and Gas Development: Arctic and Far East’ (ROOGD-2016) taking place on October 26, aims to share industry practices in the development of offshore fields and resources of the Arctic shelf. Xodus to Lead Norwegian Continental Shelf Study for Lundin

Xodus Group AS has been awarded a framework agreement by Lundin Norway AS to provide engineering studies and verification services for its developments on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The agreement is for four years with potential extension for two years. It will draw on Xodus' expertise from across the company's wide ranging technical capabilities as it calls for concept screening, feasibility studies, concept selection and pre-engineering, subsea and facilities including modifications, debottlenecking and process optimization studies.

Three Specialists join Wood Group

Wood Group has appointed three senior engineering specialists who will lead a new team of up to 20 people in the UK to further build Wood Group’s capability in vibration, dynamics and noise. This follows the acquisition of BETA Machinery Analysis, a Calgary-based engineering consultancy specializing in advanced vibration analysis, and will include the opening of a Southampton office in January 2016. Mark Hutchinson will become operations manager of Wood Group’s UK vibration team, Jonathon Baker joins as sales and business development manager and Rob Swindell will take on the role of R&D and technical authority.

Xodus Enters Phase 2 of Pioneering Research into Multiphase Flow

Press release - International energy consultancy Xodus Group and Dutch innovation company TNO have completed the first phase of a pioneering joint industry project (JIP) into the dynamic forces which affect the integrity of piping systems, in particular through multiphase flow. The second phase of the project, which is expected to be run across three stages, is now open for new participants to join. Eight companies were involved in the first phase of the project: BP, Statoil, Total, Suncor, Shell, Lundin, Aker Solutions and FMC.

Xodus Secures New ZADCO Vibration Contract

Xodus Group has been awarded a contract for the vibration assessment and analysis on the oil train piping and structures for Zakum Development Company (ZADCO) at Zirku Island, 140km north-west of Abu Dhabi. The work, valued at over $600,000, will pull in services from Xodus’ process, piping, instrumentation and structural teams. The 24-week project will include a Front End Engineering Design (FEED) scope of work. With its advanced oil and gas installations, Zirku is considered the main industrial base for the processing, storage and export of oil from the Upper Zakum, Umm Al-Dalkh and Satah fields.

Xodus Receives BINDT Endorsement

International energy consultancy Xodus Group, is now one of a limited number of businesses worldwide to be recognized by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) as an Approved Training Organization (ATO) in the field of condition monitoring. BINDT is a UKAS accredited independent certifying body, complying with the criteria of European standard ISO/IEC 17024. The approval is widely accepted as testimony to the quality of the overall system of training and it’s conformity with relevant international standards such as ISO18436 and ISO9001.

Saipem in Subsea Deal with Chiyoda, Xodus

Italian oil service group Saipem said on Thursday it had set up a venture with energy consultant Xodus Group and Japanese engineering company Chiyoda to develop business in the subsea sector. Saipem, 43 percent controlled by Italian oil major Eni , said the new company called Xodus Subsea would provide services focusing on the early phase of projects. "We believe that the subsea sector is continuing to grow and through this partnership Saipem will gain an early understanding on how future projects are being developed," Saipem CEO Umberto Vergine said in a statement.
