Parkwind, Bladt Sign Substation Deal for German Offshore Wind Farm
Belgium-based offshore wind farm developer Parkwind and Danish offshore construction company Bladt have signed a deal to build a substation for the Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind project in the German Baltic SeaThe platform will be jointly developed and will be jointly operated with 50Hertz, the responsible Transmission System Operator (TSO) for connecting the offshore wind farms in the German Baltic Sea. The offshore wind farm, 19 km off the island of Rugen is expected to start offshore installation works in 2022.

Offshore Energy: Semco to Prep Rig Floatel Victory for Action
Semco Maritime has won the contract to upgrade the Floatel Victory accommodation rig. Following the upgrade, the rig will sail out to undertake a contract in the British sector of the North Sea for Maersk Oil UK. Semco Maritime Revenue Dips 8% in 2016
Semco Maritime said the low oil and gas prices in 2016 did not encourage new industry activity or investments its customers. The low demand entailed a decline in Semco Maritime’s revenue to DKK 1,598 million compared to DKK 1,744 million in 2015. The revenue decline of 8 percent in 2016 was smaller than the decline in 2015, Semco Maritime noted, adding that positive developments within offshore wind and renewables contributed to accommodating the negative impact from the oil and gas markets.

Island Innovator Has Left Hanøytangen
Semco Maritime, Norway has completed the upgrade project on the rig Island Innovator. The rig left the Semco Maritime yard at Hanøytangen on Friday, February 24th. It has been in the yard since September 2016. After various modification and service work the rig will now mobilize to the Edvard Grieg field in the Norwegian part of the North Sea to work for Lundin Petroleum, drilling for 16/1-27 appraisal well for 30 to 35 days. During the yard stay the 5-year SPS (Special Periodic Survey) classification has been performed on the rig.

Stena Drilling has selected Semco Maritime’s facilities at Hanøytangen for a warm stacking of the offshore drilling rig Stena Don. The rig will be warm stacked at the Hanøytangen yard in Bergen, ready for future work, explains Business Development Manager Øistein Tømte, Semco Maritime. Stena Don arrived at the yard November 16 and has previously been on a contract in the Troll field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. Stena Don is a class 3 semi-submersible rig built in 2001, and has recently been upgraded with a modern equipment package.
