Gangway Innovation Allows Safer Transfer at Offshore Wind Farms

Ampelmann has created, in cooperation with Seaway Heavy Lifting, an industry first innovation allowing workers safe and efficient access to install the jackets for 84 wind turbines on the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Limited project in the Outer Moray Firth. Global offshore contractor Seaway Heavy Lifting awarded the EPCI contract to Ampelmann to design and create an Angular Boom Tip.

Vistem's Mobile Access Platform for Offshore Sector

VISTEM, a provider of game-changing technology to the oil and gas industry, has launched an innovative mobile access platform for the offshore sector that is set to bring significant cost, time and safety benefits to clients. The ATEX approved access lift, which reaches a height of 3.5m, is battery and motor free. Global oil and gas companies have funded two joint industry projects (JIP) through the Industry Technology Facilitator (ITF), the details of which will be announced at the Technology Showcase conference and exhibition in Aberdeen Wednesday. The Fullwave Game Changer research project has been extended for a further phase with a consortium of 15 oil and gas operator and service companies working in collaboration with Imperial College London.
