Jumbo to Transport, Install FSRU Mooring System

Jumbo has been awarded the transportation and Installation of a FSRU Mooring System including riser and umbilical, off the coast of Aracaju, Sergipe.Jumbo’s Offshore division was awarded the contract by Sapura to perform the transportation and installation of the FSRU’s Mooring System as well as project management and engineering services. The mooring system comprises an anchor base and a rotating yoke arm filled with water and barite ballast.

Kotug Aids Allseas in Topsides Transport

Kotug International’s offshore division has assisted Allseas with the transfer and transport of Shell’s Brent Delta topsides after the record-setting removal of the structure by Pioneering Spirit. Kotug was mainly involved in the assistance of the cargo barge Iron Lady during the transfer of the topsides from the Pioneering Spirit to the Iron Lady and the ensuing tow of the barge to the Able UK decommissioning yard in Teesside, Northeast England.

BV & Ship-to-Ship LNG Bunkering

Bureau Veritas is supporting the adoption of clean fuel LNG through the classification of both vessels in the world’s first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation between two independent ocean-going vessels. On September 3 2016, Terntank Rederi’s M/T Ternsund bunkered LNG from Coral Energy, a Dutch small scale LNG vessel owned by Antony Veder and chartered by Skangas. The operation was carried out at the entrance to the port of Gothenburg.

BV Classes First LNG-fuel Oil/Chemical Tanker

Leading international classification society Bureau Veritas has classed the first LNG-fuelled newbuilding oil/chemical tanker, the 15,000 dwt Ternsund, built under BV class at Avic Dingheng, China and delivered to Denmark’s Terntank Rederi at the end of June 2016. The new vessel is the result of close co-operation between Terntank, Avic and Bureau Veritas. The Ternsund is the first of a series of four ships all equipped with the Wärtsilä RT-flex50-D dual-fuel low-speed engine.

BV's New Academy to Meet Increased Verification Demand

Leading classification society Bureau Veritas has opened a Verification Academy which will help it to meet increasing demand for verification in the EU and globally and to cement its leadership in verification. The Aberdeen-based academy trains both BV staff and clients in implementing the most beneficial methodology for verification of offshore installations. Bureau Veritas is the only externally accredited IVB under UKAS 17020 with respect to initial suitability and operational verification.

BV Extends Offshore Services with APSYS Partnership

Classification society Bureau Veritas (BV) informs it has extended the range of reliability solutions it provides for the global offshore industry through a partnership with aerospace risk management firm APSYS.
