Several US States Likely Withheld from Offshore Drilling Plan

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke has hinted to at least six coastal states that he will keep their waters out of a looming plan to expand U.S. offshore drilling, telling some they lack enough oil to be included anyway, according to state officials and transcripts from public hearings.Zinke's comments are the clearest indication to date that the Trump administration’s initial proposal to open nearly all U.S.

EPA Announces Funding to Reduce Diesel Emissions

Preference given to fleets in areas facing air quality challenges. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the availability of grant funding to modernize the nation’s diesel fleet by retrofitting or replacing vehicles with cleaner, more efficient diesel engines. EPA anticipates awarding approximately $40 million in Diesel Emission Reduction Program (DERA) grant funding to eligible applicants, subject to the availability of funds.

TransCanada sheds Two Gasline Stakes

TransCanada Corp said on Thursday it would sell its remaining 49.3 percent interest in Iroquois Gas Transmission System LP and an 11.8 percent stake in Portland Natural Gas Transmission System (PNGTS) for $765 million. The Canadian pipeline operator said it would sell the stakes in the two gas pipelines to TC PipeLines LP, its master limited partnership that has investments in seven pipelines capable of moving 9.1 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas.

Commodities Trader Trammo Shedding East Coast LPG assets

Commodities trader Trammo Inc is continuing to shed its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) assets, putting its Newington, New Hampshire, propane terminal on the block and selling a Tampa, Florida, facility, the company told Reuters on Friday. The shakeup comes as the large energy and fertilizer trader is winding down its LPG trading desk following steep losses last year, sources familiar with the matter have said.

Mass. man arrested after suspicious devices found near power lines

A Massachusetts man with a history of feuding with telecommunications companies was arrested on Saturday as part of an FBI probe into a series of suspicious devices found near power lines in a small town near the New Hampshire border. Federal Bureau of Investigation agents, along with state and local police arrested Danny Kelly, 61, at his home in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, on Saturday morning, the FBI said.
