Honeywell Builds ICSS for BP Offshore Platform

The U.S. engineering and automation conglomerate Honeywell International said that it has been chosen to design and deliver an integrated control and safety system (ICSS) to remotely support BP’s Cassia compression platform located offshore Trinidad and Tobago.The Cassia compression project involves the installation of a new platform, Cassia C, for compressing the gas produced by the nearby existing fields in the Greater Cassia Area.BP Trinidad and Tobago (BPTT), held by BP (70%) and Repsol (30%), is the owner and operator for the Cassia C platform.

BP in Trinidad and Tobago (bptt) gave the go-ahead to two new gas developments, Cassia compression and Matapal, offshore Trinidad, it said on Friday.BP will build a new platform, Cassia C, and first gas from the facility is expected in the third quarter of 2021.Matapal will be a three-well subsea tie-back to the Juniper platform. With production capacity of 400 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, first gas from Matapal is expected in 2022, BP said in a statement.(Reporting By Shadia Nasralla; Editing by Kirsten Donovan)

Gas Starts Flowing from BP's New Offshore Fields

BP has started producing gas from two new projects offshore Trinidad and Tobago and Australia, the company said on Monday, further boosting output that is helping the company to turn a corner after a bruising market downturn. Gas has started flowing via BP's $2 billion Juniper gas platform offshore Trinidad and Tobago that is expected to produce around 590 million cubic feet a day (mmcfd) from the Corallita and Lantana fields, BP said. Offshore Australia, gas started flowing from the Persephone field, a project developed by Woodside Energy and of which BP owns nearly 17 percent.

BP to Develop Gas Project offshore Trinidad

BP has given the go-ahead for its $500 million Angelin offshore gas field development in Trinidad and Tobago to help offset declining production in one of the company's main hubs. Drilling at the Angelin field, some 60 kilometres off the south-east coast of Trinidad in a water-depth of approximately 65 metres, is set to begin in the third quarter of 2018. First gas from the facility is expected in the first quarter of 2019, BP said in a statement.

TOCFO Completes Fabrication of Juniper Topsides

Trinidad Offshore Fabricators Unlimited (TOFCO) said it has recently completed work for the Juniper offshore gas platform topsides at its facility in La Brea, Trinidad. The project marks a milestone for Trinidad and Tobago as it is the largest offshore structure ever fabricated in the country. Juniper is a Normally Unmanned Installation (NUI) measuring 145 feet to the top of the helideck and weighing approximately 5,200 short tons. It was recently installed 50 miles off the southeast coast of Trinidad at a water depth of 360 feet.

BP’s Juniper platform sets sail for offshore Trinidad

BP Trinidad and Tobago LLC (bpTT) today announced that the new Juniper offshore platform has begun its journey towards the southeast coast of Trinidad where it will be installed as bpTT’s 14th offshore installation. The Juniper project is a US$2 billion investment in Trinidad and Tobago and one of BP’s largest start-up projects in 2017. “A little over two years ago the Juniper project was sanctioned and, at that time, it represented a significant milestone as an important part of the future of bpTT,” said Norman Christie, bpTT regional president.

InterMoor Inc., an Acteon company, has completed its role in the largest foundation installation project offshore Trinidad and Tobago to date. The final stage of the project involved hooking up Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc.’s Ocean Victory semisubmersible drilling rig to the preset mooring spread InterMoor had previously installed. InterMoor Completes Juniper Mooring Installation Contract

InterMoor has completed a mooring and foundation installation campaign for bpTT’s Juniper gas project offshore Trinidad and Tobago, reportedly the largest foundation installation campaign offshore Trinidad and Tobago to date. InterMoor provided engineering and design services to identify a reliable and cost-effective mooring solution and performed configuration studies as part of the mooring analysis. The company designed and fabricated eight piles (4 ft in diameter by 128 ft long) at its facility in Morgan City, Louisiana, and provided offshore project management services for the mooring preset campaign.
