DOE Permits Bear Head to Export to FTA Countries

On Friday, July 17th, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) granted Bear Head LNG Corporation and Bear Head LNG (USA), LLC (together Bear Head LNG) authorization to export up to 440 billion cubic feet (Bcf) per year of U.S. natural gas to Canada, and up to eight million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Canada to free trade agreement (FTA) countries. Bear Head LNG Clears Hurdle in Further Development

Assessment for the development of an 8 mtpa LNG export facility in Point Tupper, Nova Scotia. The NSE approval is the last of the 10 initial federal, provincial and local regulatory approvals needed to construct a LNG export facility on the Strait of Canso in Nova Scotia. Bear Head LNG is now the only LNG project  in  Eastern  Canada  with  all  of  the  10  project approvals  and  permits  in  place  necessary  for construction.

Bear Head LNG Update

Liquefied Natural Gas Limited has announced that its 100% owned subsidiary, Bear Head LNG Corporation, (Bear Head LNG) has filed an updated registration document with Nova Scotia Environment (NSE). Bear Head LNG anticipates NSE approval of this update in the second quarter of this year. The NSE approval would be the last of the 10 initial federal, provincial, and local regulatory approvals needed to construct a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the Strait of Canso in Nova Scotia.

Liquefied Natural Gas Limited today announced that it has significantly expanded its presence in the North American Liquefied NaturalGas (LNG) sector by signing an agreement to acquire 100% of Bear Head LNG Corporation (BHLC)from a subsidiary of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (Anadarko) for US$11.0 million. A 255-acre site comprising industrial-zoned land (180 acres) and deep-water acreage (75 acres) as well as foundations in place for two 180,000 cubic meter LNG tanks.
