Prysmian Bolsters Offshore Cable Production
Responding to an increased demand for European offshore wind farms, energy and telecom cable systems manufacturer Prysmian Group has expanded capability at its U.K. production facility in Wrexham to manufacture both 33 kV and 66 kV submarine cable cores used for the inter-array cable connections in offshore wind farms. Rowan Viking Rig Upgrade Completed on Schedule
Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen, part of Damen Shiprepair & Conversion, has completed a major upgrade of a Keppel Fels ‘N’ Class drilling rig, one of the largest in the North Sea, in thirty days less than was initially projected by the client. Owner Rowan Companies plc. projected that the work on the Rowan Viking would require 130 days, but through the application of innovative project planning techniques and highly specialised equipment Damen was able to reduce this by nearly 25 percent.

UTEC Survey Completes Apache Infield AUV Inspection
UTEC Survey Australia Pty Ltd announced the successful completion of a major infield inspection of approximately 550 km of pipelines and 20 infield structures off the North West coast of Australia using two of its Gavia autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV). The work was completed on behalf of Apache Energy Limited. Offshore activity commenced in mid-June and saw UTEC provide two of its latest model Gavia AUV systems equipped with a full suite of survey sensors.
