Worked and performed maintenance on the drilling equipment and associated systems. Gained in depth hydraulics knowledge.

Looked after the engine room and performed watch keeping on a 12 hour shift basis with the 2nd engineer. Performed routine planned maintenance on engines, purifiers, compressors etc.

In charge off looking after the generators and their prime movers onboard the container ships. Also served as safety officer whilst serving as a third engineer with maersk.

Carried out regular watch keeping duties alongside the second engineer. Also performed regular planned maintenance on equipment.

Did my cadetship with Maersk line and south tyneside college and earned an HND and NVQ level 3 in marine engineering. Once qualified served first as a 5th engineer and then was promoted to a 4th engineer looking after purifiers, compressors and boilers on board the container ships. Also performed regular watch keeping duties whilst on board.
