Responsible for determining planned costs & updating estimate cost columns.

During this period I held a number of positions as a commissioning engineer and a mechanical supervisor.
The positions were mainly offshore based in the UK they included:

Responsible for overseeing the strip down, repair, rebuild and commissioning of equipment to agreed timescales.

1996 – 2001 Various
At the start of my engineering career I worked in a number of different sectors including heavy engineering, petrochemical plants, MoD, marine engineering, offshore engineering, construction and power stations. Projects worked on include:
Britannia Oil, Port Clarence, Teesside
Working as senior mechanical commissioning technician, on behalf of Bell valves, on the Britannia oil and gas project.
Working closely with the client to identify problematic valves during the commissioning stages.
Responsible for the correct manning requirements to execute the project.
Supervise / advise technicians in the safe working procedures required to repair removed or replaced valves in accordance with client QA & QC specifications.
Identifying 300 valves that were subsequently removed, repaired and / or replaced, within time and budget, to meet QA & QC requirements stipulated by the client.
GEC Aerospace, World Cargo, Terminal Four, Heathrow Airport UK
Employed as a commissioning engineer to install the first ever computerised cargo-handling system overseeing the correct alignment and instalment of the conveyor and hoist systems. Conducted commissioning checks in accordance with BAA and GEC procedures.
Mammoet, Holland
Worked as part of a team on a ground breaking project never attempted anywhere before. The project involved building, designing and installing 26 separate lifting units onto a barge using the Smitt International Giant 4. This was then utilised to recover the Keorsk submarine, from the seabed, and transport it back to dry dock in Norway for the Russian Government.
Mercia Lifting & Kone Cranes, Teesside
Commissioning engineer conducting root cause analysis to determine faults with overhead gantry cranes advising the client on down time requirements so that works could be carried out in a safe reasonable time scale. This was carried out in accordance to Lloyd’s insurance regulations and policies.
Devonport Royal Navy Shipyard
Commissioning engineer executing maintenance on Royal Navy ships including aircraft carriers, frigates and submarines.
