Description

Commence the lashing & unlashing of containers immediately upon receiving the signal from the hatch foreman
Lashing and unlashing the containers as per the defined time limits and direct the switcher movement such that they are parked at the exact location under the crane
As directed by the foreman, arrange under crane all the materials required for handling of out of gauge containers
Ensure that twist locks and stoking cones are kept (a) near the crane spreader for manual locking systems and (b) at both ends of the vessel for vessels working vessels operating 4 or more cranes
Fix these on container top during loading and ensure they are unlocked during discharge for automated locking systems ensure to be on the quay side to fix, remove locks on lower edge of container during loading & discharge respectively
Ensure that twist locks, stoking cones and the melt locks are kept in the bins in a timely manner
Ensure that during loading, number of spreaders arranged on the crane match the number of containers being lifted from the switcher below
