Shan Ship Management, Mumbai, Chief Officer  - Apr 2014 – June 2015

  • In charge of and responsible for stowage, loading, discharging and managing of logistically complex oil cargo operations worth over $100 million on board ships with zero incidents and claims.
  • Responsible for managing human capital and assets of a multinational team of 15-20 people.
  • In charge of  and responsible for cargo oil tank cleaning operations for preparing the vessel to carry various/different grades of oil cargo with zero incidents and claims.
  • Responsible for the operation, testing and maintenance of various deck machineries and cargo pumping & piping systems. Implemented Planned Maintenance System onboard vessels.
  • Responsible for procurement, planning & control of spares inventory and consumables.
  • Planned and executed dry docking of 2 tanker ships (1 Suezmax and 1 VLCC) in Yui Lian dockyard at China; achieved successful completion of the project in stipulated time.
  • In charge of ship’s emergency response team - organized, trained, and led ship’s crew to be prepared for emergencies like fire, piracy and collision. Provide proactive leadership in conducting drills as directed as well as weekly safety meetings and orientation of new personnel.
  • Responsible for training, assessment and performance evaluation of junior staff.
  • Facilitated quality audits and inspections by oil majors such as Shell, Chevron, Exxon, BP, various Port State controls (includes USCG) with zero non conformities leading to higher earning in form of increased business value.
  • Diligently manage the calculation of vessel stability on a daily basis.
  • Ensure open communications with other departments regarding the overall safety operations.
  • Executed and fulfilled numerous positions such as Vessel Security Officer, Safety Officer, and Ballast Control Officer and was responsible for managing the stability calculations and afloat maintenance.

  • Have volunteered and worked for NGO Youth Alliance as a media manager and have run fund campaigns in New Delhi and Kanpur.
