Vessel &Marine Experience
Time on the water has been a large part of my life 30-foot Catalina sailboat in Lake Michigan to the North Channel in Ontario, Canada. Would leave Muskegon port of call travel north on the east side of Lake Michigan cross under the Mackinaw Bridge spending time on the Island waiting for the Chicago to Mackinaw Race to come in then head to Canada, always anchored out unless we needed to go into port for supplies. Spending time in the North Channel, even anchored next to Evinrude’s Private Island.
30 foot Sea Ray Sundance on Lake Ontario, Erie Canal and St. Lawrence Seaway. Ship station out of Rochester, NY. Ran down the south side of Lake Ontario into the Erie Canal, maneuvered the locks, with crew. Would end up in Albany NY then turn back to head for the St Lawrence Seaway. Spend a week watching the Canadian poker runs with Unlimited Speedboats. Then would head back to Rochester, NY.
Accomplishments:
Created a measuring tool that will allow management to gauge if the plan for the day will meet or exceed the goal before the plan are is placed in effect. This goal is not measured until after the results are in for the day. This tool will be valuable not only to one service center but company wide. Documentation was created to ensure communication, accountability and production between supervision and the driver’s sales representatives. The result of this Six Sigma project represents an opportunity to increase profitability. Maintained daily operations during the National Teamsters strike which increased operations by 500%. Kept lines of communication open between local authorities, corporate headquarters, drivers and operation managers.
