• 60 day Cadet Shipping on The Great Lakes participating on watch, routine inspections, line handling, basic maintenance, and observed ship handling H. Lee White (704’ Diesel propulsion).

• Three semesters at sea learning the management of vessel operations. Sailed throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America visiting US and foreign ports aboard the TS Kennedy (540’ Steam Propulsion).
