QMED | SCRIPPS INSTITUTE OF OCEANOGRAPHY Jun 2018 – Sep 2018 ‘Roger Revelle’ - 3,180 ton, 273’ diesel electric research vessel. 2 x 3,000 HP motors, 1,180 HP bow thruster Successfully undertook role as QMED aboard vessel. Work ethic and skills were acknowledged by Chief Engineer who gave recommendation for advancement to third engineer role. Key Contributions: Undertook engine room rounds and reported any anomalies to the engineer on watch. Performed maintenance in accordance with NS5 maintenance program. Logged running hours of engine room equipment. Undertook maintenance on CAT engines, sewage system, AC Plant and general pump maintenance. Operation of various hydraulic winches aboard Undertook ballast operations, bilge pumping and sewage discharge as required. Participated in weekly fire and abandon ship drills.
