WFS Appoint IMEC as Agent in Malaysia

Posted by September 28, 2016

WFS Technologies of Livingston, Scotland, has appointed Kuala Lumpur-based Independent Marine & Engineering Consultants Sdn Bhd (IMEC) as exclusive agents for the Malysian market. The two companies will work together to expand the use of subsea automation in this sector.

IMEC was founded in 2010 to offer a network of technical expertise in Southeast Asia. It operates across a range of engineering and design disciplines including subsea support and installation. The company has a wide array of contacts and the agreement will give WFS access to this important network and local supply chain.

WFS provides automation solutions to subsea oil and gas markets. Backed up by advanced Seatooth-enabled technology, WFS’s automation solutions measure parameters such as internal temperature, corrosion, flow, leaks and vibration in remote subsea pipelines. They deliver process and asset integrity information into the operators’ field control systems.

“The agreement with IMEC is an important step to providing local support for WFS’s customers in Malaysia,” said Brendan Hyland, Chairman of WFS Technologies. “IMEC is well regarded and has a strong regional presence. We see a common desire to offer our customers safe, reliable and cost effective solutions.

“The relationship with IMEC strengthens our presence in SE Asia and follows the recent appointment of Mike Theobald as Project Director, SE Asia.
