Turkey Strikes Deal with Gazprom for Gas Price Cut

Posted by February 27, 2015

Turkey has concluded a final deal with Russia's Gazprom that will cut the price of gas it buys from Russia by 10.25 percent, Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said on Friday.

The deal will not lead to lower domestic gas prices because of the weakness of the lira, Yildiz told reporters in Ankara.

Gazprom, in a statement on Friday, did not mention the price of its supplies but said it had reached a "win-win" agreement on the price of gas for Turkey.
