Total: Several Refineries in Restart Phase

Posted by June 6, 2016

French oil group Total said preliminary operations to restart its Normandy and Grandpuits refineries were underway on Monday.

Workers voted to end a strike at Grandpuits and preliminary startup operations where underway there and at the Normandy refinery, as well as Feyzin refinery in the southern French Rhone region, a spokesman for the company said.

Donges refinery on France's western coast was still being blocked by about 30 militants from the CGT union, which is leading a wave of stoppages and protests in the rail and energy sectors against government plans for labour law reform.

Workers were voting on Tuesday on whether to go back to work at Feyzin, said the Total spokesman, and the La Mede refinery was still working, with deliveries working too. (Reporting by Bate Felix
