WFS Technology has appointed Mike Theobald as Project Director for Australia and SouthEast Asia.
Having worked in the subsea industry for over 25 years, Theobald will bring considerable subsea control systems knowledge and understanding to the role, as well as an insight into how best to use Seatooth products and technology.
Theobald started his career with FSSL (formally Kvaerner Oilfield Products now
Aker Solutions (AKSO.OL)) in 1988, just as subsea systems were gaining popularity.
His core discipline is in subsea control systems. Roles with both operators (BP, Maersk Oil, Woodside and Petronas) and
equipment manufacturers have given him a wealth of technology, operations and project management experience.
Theobald has achieved some notable firsts in the oil industry, namely the early development of All-Electric Subsea Systems and Subsea HIPPS, and was the principle mover for SIIS, the subsea instrumentation interface standard. He sits on several industry standards committees and is long time fellow of the Society for Underwater Technology and a Fellow of the Institution for Engineering & Technology.
