Norway's Statoil (STO) has started two new compressors on its Troll A platform, a key gas production facility on the Norwegian continental shelf, to increase recovery, the company said on Thursday.
"The two new giant compressors that started up on the Troll A platform this month will help increase gas recovery by 83 billion cubic metres," Statoil said in a statement
The two compressors come in addition to the existing two, ensuring a daily output of 120 million cubic metres of gas per day and helping to extend Troll A operations from 2045 to 2063, it added.
