A source said that Kazakhstan increased crude oil and condensate output in February by 13% compared to January, reaching a record of 2,12 million barrels a day. This was again a higher production than its quota for the OPEC+ oil producing group.

According to a source familiar with official statistics and calculations that take into account Kazakhstan’s tons per barrel ratio of 7, the crude oil production in January was up 15.5%. Last month, it reached 1.83 million barrels per day.

Kazakhstan consistently exceeded its production quota of 1.468 millions bpd, as per the agreement struck between the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC+) and their allies, including Russia.

The government has committed to reducing the output of its products and compensating for any overproduction.

It is increasing oil production in the country's biggest oilfield, Tengiz, which is owned by Chevron.

Source: The field's production increased to 904,000 bpd from 640,000 in January due to completion of maintenance, and an expansion program.

The ministry of energy did not respond immediately to a comment request.

The output has also increased, despite the drone attack last month on a pumping-station located in Russia along the Caspian Pipeline Consortium's (CPC) Russian stretch. This section exports about 80% of Kazakhstani oil.

Kazakhstan announced last month that oil deliveries via CPC are on schedule. (Reporting and Editing by Guy Faulconbridge, Emelia Sithole Matarise).
