Sonatrach Awards LPG Train Contract to Tecnimont

November 5, 2018

Algeria's Sonatrach on Monday signed a contract worth $248.5 million with Italy's Maire Tecnimont Spa to build a fourth liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) train at the Hassi Messaoud gas field, Sonatrach's chief executive said.

The Italian firm had announced a preliminary deal in September, a spokesperson for Maire Tecnimont said.

The train will have a capacity of 8 million cubic metres per day, Sonatrach CEO Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour told reporters, adding that the project was expected to come on line in 30 months.
