Shell restructures its executive team; integrated gas and upstream director departs
Shell announced on Tuesday that Zoe Yujnovich will be leaving the company at the end this month, after spending more than a decade working for the oil giant.
Shell's leadership structure has been simplified by the appointment of Cederic Crémers as president of Integrated Gas, and Peter Costello to lead Upstream.
Shell has a strategy of streamlining its senior management structure.
In a recent statement, Chief Executive Officer Wael Sawan stated that "we have made significant progress over the past two years in building stability and a track-record of strong performance with active portfolio management while simplifying our businesses".
The new structure will reflect three main areas of business value – Integrated Gas, Upstream and Downstream, Renewables and Energy Solutions. Trading and Supply will also be elevated.
Shell has launched a review of the entire company in 2023 to reduce costs, while Sawan concentrates on activities that have the best returns.
Shell Energy, including renewables, energy generation, and customer supply would be divided into separate power production and trading units.
Shell's Projects and Technology Directorate will be integrated into the business lines in the first half 2026. This was announced by Sawan on Tuesday.
The title "director" will be replaced by "president" for executive committee members as of April 1. Reporting by Chandini and Arunima in Bengaluru, editing by Mrigank and Rashmi Aich and Kirby Donovan
