Samaraneftegaz Acquired New licensed Area

December 27, 2014

As a result of auctions Samaraneftegaz acquired the right to use subsurface resources of the Pilovsky licensed block with the purpose of exploration, development and production of hydrocarbons during next 25 years. With the acquisition of this license recoverable reserves of Samaraneftegaz will increase by almost 2.2 million tons of oil.

The Pilovsky block is situated at the territory of Isaklinsk and Pokhvistnevsk administrative districts of the Samara Region. Reserves of the Bogolyubovskoye oil field, which geographically overrun boundaries of the allotment areas of the field, are partially situated in this oil field developed by Samaraneftegaz.

Recoverable reserves within the Pilovsky block by C1-C2 categories total 2.17 mln tons, predicted resources of oil by D1 category are 1.4 mln tons. This oil-bearing land is rather prospective: it has a developed transport infrastructure, oil pipelines and power transmission lines run through its territory, also the Almetyevsk-Samara oil pipeline is situated not far from it.

Samaraneftegaz fully participates in subsurface use auctions aiming at replenishment of commercial hydrocarbons reserves and providing sustainable output growth in mid and long-term prospect at most prospective blocks. For example, in last three years the enterprise acquired 9 licensed blocks in the Samara Region.

Acquisition of the Pilovsky block became another step in realization of Rosneft’s long-term development strategy aimed at replenishment of resource base in strategically important regions of Russia.
