Petrobras June Oil, Gas Output Up 4.3%
Brazil's state-run oil company Petroleo Brasileiro SA said on Friday that oil and natural gas output rose 4.3 percent in June compared with a year earlier as it added new offshore production systems.
Petrobras, as the company is commonly known, produced 2.746 million barrels of oil and equivalent natural gas per day (boepd) from fields in Brazil and abroad in June, compared with 2.633 million boepd in June 2014, the company said in a statement.
Output fell 0.1 percent, or by about 20,000 boepd, compared with May as Petrobras was forced to do more maintenance on its production systems, shutting down some operations.
Most of Petrobras output was in Brazil, where it produced 2.553 boepd, or 93 percent of its total production.
June Petroleum output, as defined by oil and natural-gas liquids (NGL), was 2.088 barrels a day, 1.1 percent less than in May.
Petrobras' Brazilian natural gas output in the month was little changed from May at 73.9 million cubic meters (2.61 billion cubic feet) a day.
