Petrobras Confirms Potential of Libra

Petrobras announces that the consortium responsible for the area of Libra, in the pre-salt Santos Basin, has completed drilling of the well 3-BRSA-1310-RJS, located in the central part of the block. Through well the presence of hydrocarbons in reservoirs with low porosity was identified, providing important data for the evaluation campaign that structure. It is the fourth well drilled in the area of Libra.

Additionally, the consortium is drilling in two locations: in well 3-RJS-739A, in the northwestern part of the block, and an carbonatic reservoir with oil remains in operation assessment found discovery; and 3-RJS-741, in the north area, which is in the initial phase of drilling.

Libra block was acquired in October 2013 and is in exploratory phase. The consortium has already hired an FPSO (production and storage ship oil) with capacity of 50 thousand barrels per day of oil and 4 million m3 / day of gas for long-term testing in the area. Also it found in the FPSO tender production of the pilot project, with a capacity of 180 thousand barrels / day of oil and 12 million m3 / day of gas.

Libra consortium consists of Petrobras (operator, 40%), Shell (20%), Total (20%), CNPC (10%), CNOOC (10%) and PPSA (contract manager).
