Oil and gas services company has announced growth into a key emerging market, thanks to the award of its first ever contract in Angola.
Aberdeenshire-based Paradigm Flow Services has secured the contract to deploy its React Locate Remediate (RLR) umbilical unblocking technology and accompanying personnel in the company’s inaugural project in the African country. RLR is a recent addition to the portfolio and was inspired by the success of the company’s revolutionary Pipe-Pulse technology which provides a non-intrusive method of unblocking subsea flowlines.
Paradigm Flow Services’ step into the Angolan market follows hot on the heels of news that the company recently won its largest ever contract in South East Asia using similar methods and technology.
The firm’s Subsea Umbilical Blockage Services (SUBS) equipment is lightweight and compact, with a guaranteed mobilization of 48 hours. Blockages are accurately located using Time Domain Reflectometry techniques and the STATIS
software system thus allowing offshore personnel to determine the optimum low frequency, micro pressure pulse strategy to be used and ultimately applied to the umbilical. These micro pressure pulses cause pressure propagation of the blockage and adhesive breakthrough via creation of micro annulus. This enables fluid displacement across the blockage and/or the blockage to be displaced slowly and carefully via any QC/DC’s and into the large bore flowline, manifold or well.
Commenting on the
Angolan project, Paradigm Flow Services’ Commercial Director Donald Ballantyne said: “Ground-breaking, cost-effective solutions such as ours continue to be attractive in current trading conditions and we are delighted that experience gained in traditional marketplaces is enabling us to expand our corporate horizons into new, emerging regions such as Angola.
