Norway's Statoil Shuts Statfjord C Platform

Posted by February 26, 2015

Norwegian energy firm Statoil (STO) has shut its Statfjord C platform in the North Sea after discovering cracks in the platform, Norwegian daily Stavanger Aftenblad reported on Thursday.

Statoil could not immediately comment on the report.

The entire Statfjord field, including all three platforms, produced about 81,000 barrels of oil equivalents last year.

The paper added that the platform will be closed for 12 days.
