Norway's oil and gas production fell in November but exceeded forecast
Norwegian Offshore Directorate said Friday that although the combined oil and natural gas production in Norway decreased from November of last year, it was still 2,6% higher than the official forecast.
Norway is Europe's biggest supplier of natural gases and oil. However, output can vary from month to months depending on maintenance and other stops at over 90 offshore fields.
The total oil, gas liquids, natural condensate and gas production stood at 0.674 standard cubic metres each day. This is equivalent to 4,24 million barrels equivalent oil.
The regulator reported on its website that natural gas production fell in November to 360 million cubic meters (mcm) a day, down from 365 mcm per day a year ago, but it exceeded the forecast of 349.5mcm by 3 percent.
NOD's preliminaries showed that crude oil production declined from 1.81 to 1.74 million barrels a day (bpd), but still exceeded the forecast of 1.68 million bpd. Reporting by Terje Solsvik; editing by Nora Buli and Kirovan Donovan
