Leni Gas & Oil Expects High Production Rates at Goudron
Leni Gas & Oil is confident of seeing excellent production rates from its new wells on the Goudron fields.
Production from four recently drilled wells will shortly begin to come online now that work is complete for the fourth and final well at then current drilling location.
The GY-668 well, the fourth at this drill pad and the fifth of thirty planned for the ongoing programme. has now been logged and cased after being drilled to a depth of 3,026 feet.
GY-668 has encountered 254 feet of net oil pay in its primary target, the Gros Morne Sandstones.
This adds to the 191 feet already indentified in the shallower, secondary Goudron sandstones.
The drill rig will now be mobilised to the location of the next phase of drilling. This will allow the four wells, GY-665 to GY-668, to be completed for production one by one.
"The fifth well has been successful in meeting its objectives and the rig will shortly be moved off GY-668 and we will start the process of preparing the site for the production," said chief executive Neil Ritson.
"The pressures we have experienced during the drilling of these wells gives us considerable confidence that we will have excellent production rates."
