Global Demand Drives Mirage Machines Expansion
Energy sector portable machine tool specialist Mirage Machines, an Acteon Company, said it has invested a six figure sum in the expansion of its headquarters in Derby, U.K., as it responds to continuously rising demand for its pipecutting and flange facing technology.
Mirage Machines has acquired new office premises 5,000 sq ft adjacent to its existing engineering headquarters, to facilitate the extension of its manufacturing and service operations workshop to 17,000 sq ft.
The site, at Enterprise Way, includes full-scale technology engineering, fabrication, maintenance and R&D departments producing machines used across the international oil and gas, and petrochemical industries.
Mirage employs more than 40 people and up to six new jobs are expected to be created as the company targets a trebling of its annual turnover by 2016.
It works in partnership with operators and service companies in oil and gas, as well as universities to develop on-site machining technology and solutions, including pipecutting and flange-facing, subsea diamond wire cutting and hot-tapping equipment.
Richard Silk, managing director of Mirage Machines, said, "International demand is a key driver for the ongoing expansion of our U.K. premises, and the extension to our operational headquarters in Derby is a natural step to ensure we have capacity to respond to consistent demand.
"We have ramped-up our manufacturing operations to meet that demand for our machines in E&P, maintaining our reputation for producing technology of the highest quality, with performance and reliability the cornerstones of our business.
"Expanding our staff will be a key element of pushing the growth of the business forward - our core team of engineering specialists have decades of experience and are continuously working to refine and improve each product, and achieve success with bespoke solutions for our clients.
"They are dedicated to delivering machines which provide consistent, pin-point accuracy in all environments, improving the efficiency of our clients' operations, reducing down-time while ensuring the integrity of safety-critical infrastructure on and offshore."
