German wind production expected to increase; spot prices not traded
German wind power is expected to double the German electricity supply.
LSEG data shows that there were no transactions for German or French baseload power prices on Monday at 0922 GMT.
Naser Hashemi, LSEG analyst, says that residual load is expected to drop in Germany and the rest of Europe on Monday as a result of lower consumption and increased wind and solar energy output.
LSEG data show that the German wind output will increase by 7.6 gigawatts from Friday to 13,3 GW Monday. The French output, however, is expected to drop 1.1 GW to 2.2 GW.
On Monday, the German solar energy supply is expected to increase by 510 megawatts to 13.1 GW.
According to LSEG, the wind power forecast for Tuesday is expected to be less than 8 GW and 5 GW around. Then it will rise again on Thursday and on Friday.
The French nuclear capacity remained unchanged at 72%.
On Monday, Germany's power consumption is expected to fall by 580 MW at 54.2 GW. In France, demand is expected to decline by 610 MW at 44.5 GW.
The German baseload 2025 price rose by 1.1%, to 97.65 euro ($108.20), while the French equivalent position was not traded after closing on Thursday at 83.30 euro/MWh.
The price of European CO2 allowances expiring in December 2024 rose by 0.5%, to 71.40 euro per metric ton. ($1 = $0.9025 euros)
