Gasum Expands biogas production in Sweden
With the acquistion of Swedish Biogas International having been completed today, 2nd January 2017, Gasum holds the entire share capital of the company. The new company Swedish Biogas International Gasum became Scandinavia's largest biogas producer.The acquisition allows the use of biogas for Gasum supply industry and transport in the Nordic countries.
Acquisition is an integral part of the company's strategy. The goal being to develop an active Nordic gas ecosystem, where biogas plays an important role. After above mentioned transaction strengthens the company's capabilities to provide competitive biogas for transport and industry, says Gasum's CEO Johanna warm.
In the transaction, Gasum's ownership was transferred to five biogas production plants located in Sweden Jordbergassa, Katrineholm, Lidköping, Örebro and Västerås, a majority of the share's production plant. In addition, Swedish Biogas International has a 50 per cent stake Vadsbo biogas.
Swedish Biogas International is one of Sweden's largest biogas producer, which produces about 300 GWh of biogas per year. the first manufacturing Swedish Biogas International, founded in 2009, and the company directly employs today 35 people. The company's head office is located in Linköping.
