The Ferguson Group, a supplier of DNV 2.7-1/EN12079 certified offshore containers, accommodation and workspace modules is expanding its product range, to include cryogenic and ISO tanks.

The cryogenic tanks, 10 ft with a 7,890 ltr capacity, are designed for the transportation and storage of liquefied industrial gases. New to the Ferguson Group. Judith Verner, Fluid Solutions - Development Manager is based at the group’s headquarters in Aberdeenshire. She has been managing the introduction of the cryogenic tanks to the Ferguson Group’s fleet. Judith sees the new Cryogenic tanks as an enhancement to the company’s global product offering.

The cryogenic tanks have tough steel covers and inner stainless steel cores, creating a super-insulated vacuum that helps keep the gases in their lower temperature, liquid form, for longer. They are most common used in well, pipeline and process services, coiled tubing and cementing offshore and have been specially designed to undertake a large amount of stress.

Verner said, “We have had successful experiences with our acid and heli fuel tank fleets, so being able to expand our market offering was a natural next step for the company.

Our tanks have a hold time of 25 days, which can be a real advantage to customers. The gases in our tanks can last for 25 days before any evaporation occurs which means that they operate at maximum efficiency, even when they are travelling to some of the world’s remotest locations.”

They have also been designed with dual try-cock valves, rather than the standard single for ease of use, the lower roof plates means that the valves can be moved with their slings/shackles in position.

In addition to the new cryogenic tanks, the Ferguson Group introduced a new fleet of 20 ft. standard ISO tanks. These SS316L tanks are T11 UN portable approved by IMDG, ADR and RID for the safe storage and transport of hazardous goods. With a 4 bar working pressure and airline connection, they are suitable for many uses. A collapsible handrail ensures safety whilst not getting in the way. They are insulated with rockwool to maintain temperature whilst the stainless steel will minimize intergranular corrosion.

To move the ISO Tanks easily, Ferguson Group has added spreader beams to its fleet. The spreader beams can be operated by crane or gravity with a 35-metric-ton swl (safe working load) and twist lock assembly for ease of handling.

Verner continued, “We understand that our clients are working in ever more demanding environments and their needs are ever changing. Having taken on board customers’ comments and invaluable feedback we are confident our new product range will meet their requirements.”

Additional services will also be available for customers who wish a more bespoke service for their tanks.

All Ferguson Group products are produced to DNV 2.7-1/ EN 12079 standards and our online tracking system gives clients access to technical specifications and certification documents whenever it is required.
