Wood Group Develops Advanced Analytics Capability with CeADA

Wood Group today announced that it is collaborating with the Centre for Applied Data Analytics (CeADAR), located at University College Dublin (UCD), to launch a new data analytics capability to deliver significant savings for the energy and industrial sectors. Wood Group Kenny (WGK) will work with CeADAR to develop predictive analytics for deployment particularly in the oil and gas industry.

Wood Group Bags four Statoil Contracts

Wood Group has recently won four subsea contracts with Statoil on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS). The latest award is a study to deliver subsea field concept engineering for the Snorre expansion project. This project will focus on cost efficient enhanced recovery from the Snorre reservoir, with tieback to the existing Snorre A tension leg platform and gas import from Gullfaks A.

Wood Group Wins GWF-2 Design Contract

Wood Group has secured a contract with Woodside to  provide the detailed design of the Greater Western Flank Phase 2 (GWF-2) flowline  system. The GWF-2 Project is located on the North West Shelf, offshore Western  Australia. Under the contract, Wood Group Kenny (WGK) will  perform the flowline system detailed design and support the related procurement  and construction processes.

Wood Group Extends North Sea Chevron Contract

Wood Group has secured an extension to continue to support Chevron Upstream Europe across four offshore assets in the North Sea. Wood Group PSN (WGPSN) will deliver operations and maintenance services to the Alba Northern platform, Alba floating storage unit, Captain floating production, storage and offloading vessel and Captain wellhead protector platform, under the one year contract that extends an agreement in place since 2010.

Wood Group Lands Prelude Deal

Wood Group has secured a three year contract with Shell Australia’s Prelude, Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project. Perth-based Wood Group Kenny will provide specialist consultancy services for flexible riser integrity management prior to and during operation of Prelude FLNG, which will be located 475km north-north east of Broome in Western Australia.

Wood Group Wins PetroRio's Brazil Contract

Wood Group has been awarded a new contract by PetroRio to deliver services to the Polvo A platform, in the southern Campos basin, approximately 100 kilometres off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. Wood Group Wins Australian FEED Contract from Shell

Wood  Group has secured a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the Woodside-operated  proposed Browse floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) Development. Under a new 12 month  contract awarded by Shell, Wood Group Kenny (WGK) will carry out flow assurance  and process integration studies for the proposed development's three offshore  gas-condensate fields - Brecknock, Calliance and Torosa.

Three Specialists join Wood Group

Wood Group has appointed three senior engineering specialists who will lead a new team of up to 20 people in the UK to further build Wood Group’s capability in vibration, dynamics and noise. This follows the acquisition of BETA Machinery Analysis, a Calgary-based engineering consultancy specializing in advanced vibration analysis, and will include the opening of a Southampton office in January 2016.

2H Offshore, an Acteon company, is adding to its flexible marine riser engineering capabilities by growing its teams in Aberdeen and Kuala Lumpur, the company announced today. Flexible riser engineer, Gilles Gardner, has been hired as a technical manager to support 2H’s growing flexible riser engineering service offering from the Aberdeen office.

Kemp Succeeds Semple at Wood Group

Wood Group announced following changes to its senior management team. Alan Semple, chief financial officer (CFO) has advised the board that he intends to retire and step down from his current role and from the board at the company’s annual general meeting in May 2015, at which time he will have held senior financial roles with Wood Group for over 19 years. Alan has been CFO and a member of the board since 2000.

Wood Group Kenny Wins 2 Contracts from Petrobras

Wood Group Kenny (WGK) has won two contracts with a total value of over $2 million with Brazilian operator Petrobras. In the first, WGK has begun a conceptual engineering study of two alternatives of pipeline heating systems for the Petrobras pre-salt Lapa field, water-heated pipe-in-pipe (WH-PiP) and electrically trace-heated pipe-in-pipe (ETH-PiP).

BP awards Wood Group Shah Deniz Subsea Project

British energy services company Wood Group said on Tuesday it had been awarded by BP a 36 million pounds ($60.3 million) subsea contract for the Shah Deniz II gas project in Azerbaijan. The new call-off contract for 2014 is part of the two companies' 2007 global agreement and will cover engineering and project management services for the Shah Deniz II Subsea Execute phase, Wood Group said.

DNV GL JIP Provides Guidance for Subsea Installations

Failures of installed pipes, umbilicals and cables during installation can potentially lead to higher costs for the oil and gas industry and delayed start-ups. However, there are currently no Standards or Recommended Practices that address analysis methodology related to the laying of such products. To address this, DNV GL has launched a Joint Industry Project (JIP) to develop best practice guidelines on this matter.
