Skarfjell becomes tie-back to Gjøa

DEA and its partners in PL418 have selected a subsea tie-back to the Gjøa platform as the concept for development of the Skarfjell discovery in the Norwegian North Sea. This alternative is an enabler for developing the Gjøa platform as a stronger hub in the area and maximising recovery for Gjøa, Skarfjell and the area in general. Statoil Increases Share in Byrding Development

Statoil has agreed to acquire Wintershall Norge’s 25 percent interest in the Byrding project on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). On conclusion of this transaction Statoil will increase its interest from 45 percent to 70 percent. Byrding (PL090B) is an oil and gas discovery in the northern part of the North Sea and is operated by Statoil. It is near the Troll / Fram area which represents a focal point of Norway's oil and gas production.

Wood Group Wins Wintershall Norge's New Framework Agreement

Wood Group has been awarded a new frame agreement by Wintershall Norge AS to tender for provision of modification and maintenance services to assets in the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS). The four year frame agreement, which has two three-year extension options and is effective immediately, will be delivered from Wood Group"s offices in Sandefjord, Stavanger, Bergen, Oslo and Moss.

EnQuest Seeking to Sell Stakes in North Sea Oilfields

Oil producer EnQuest is seeking to sell stakes in several of its North Sea assets in an effort to boost cash flow in the face of a dim outlook for oil prices. Chief Executive Officer Amjad Bseisu told Reuters the Aberdeen, Scotland-based company has launched a process to farm out a stake of 20 to 30 percent in the 4,450 barrel per day Heather/Broom field which it operates. Norway's Edvard Grieg Field Starts Production

BASF's oil and gas subsidiary Wintershall said on Monday it had started production at the Edvard Grieg field in the Norwegian North Sea, where it holds a 15 percent share. "While adding to our total production in Norway, we have helped, alongside the operator and our other partners, to bring an important regional project to production on time and to budget," said Bernd Schrimpf, managing director of Wintershall Norge.

DNV GL Wins Frame Agreement with Wintershall Norge

DNV GL has been selected by Wintershall Norge AS to provide a frame agreement for global inspection services for its developments offshore Norway. The overall contract is expected to exceed  $1.2 million. The term of the contract is five years, with an option for two, two-year extensions and covers all Wintershall’s projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). It will initially be used for the ongoing Maria development.

Subsea 7 Bags Norwegian North Sea Contract

Subsea 7 S.A. announced it has been awarded a pipeline and construction contract worth approximately $300 million from Wintershall Norge AS for the Maria field development. The contract consists of engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of 95 kilometers of rigid flowlines and associated structures to develop the Maria field located in the Norwegian Sea at a water depth of approximately 300 meters.

BG Group Produces First Oil from Knarr Field

BG Group announced the Petrojarl Knarr floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel had started production from the Knarr oil field in the North Sea, offshore Norway. The FPSO has been leased from Teekay Corporation and is moored approximately 120 kilometers off the Norwegian coast. It has a production capacity of 63,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and a storage capacity of 800,000 barrels.

Statoil's New gas Discovery at Aasta Hansteen

Operator Statoil has together with PL218 partners made a gas discovery in the Snefrid Nord prospect in the Norwegian Sea. The discovery is an important contribution to the Aasta Hansteen field development project and Polarled pipeline utilisation. “The Snefrid Nord discovery increases the resource base for the Aasta Hansteen field development project by around 15%,” says Irene Rummelhoff, senior vice president exploration Norway in Statoil.

Wintershall Takes Over Operatorship of Norwegian Subsea Oil and Gas Field

Wintershall has taken over the operatorship of the subsea oil and gas field Vega from Statoil, Wintershall announced today. Vega is the BASF subsidiary’s first operated subsea tie-in field in Norway. With this transfer, Germany-based Wintershall now operates two production fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, Brage and Vega. The takeover of the Vega operatorship is part of a transaction with Statoil that was completed in December 2014.

DNV GL Wins Contract for Maria Development
