Aker Solutions said it has secured a framework agreement to provide subsea services for Statoil-operated oil and gas fields offshore Norway. The contract has a fixed period of five years, starting in the first quarter of 2018, and contains five four-year extension options. Rolls-Royce to Provide Mooring System for Statoil's Njord A

Rolls-Royce has been chosen by Norway-based engineering and construction services firm Kvaerner to provide a mooring system for Norwegian oil and gas company Statoil’s oil platform, Njord A. Njord A is being upgraded by Kvaerner and Rolls-Royce has been chosen to provide an upgrade to its mooring system. The contract has a value of about £15 million ($19 mln).

11 People Found Dead in Norway Helicopter Crash

Emergency services have found 11 bodies after a helicopter crashed off the west coast off Norway on Friday, a rescue official told broadcaster NRK. A search for the remaining two passengers was ongoing, a spokesman from the Rescue Coordination Centre for Southern Norway told NRK, adding that among the 13 passengers were one British and one Italian national. The others were Norwegian.

Odfjell Drilling Boosts Safety with Miko Patches

A policy of safety enhancement has resulted in Odfjell Drilling recruiting the expertise of Miko Marine to design and manufacture a complete package of sea chest covers and cofferdams that use magnetic holding technology for increased efficiency. The new closures have been designed specifically for use during work on the semi-submersible drilling rig Deepsea Stavanger.

Norway's Edvard Grieg Field Starts Production

BASF's oil and gas subsidiary Wintershall said on Monday it had started production at the Edvard Grieg field in the Norwegian North Sea, where it holds a 15 percent share. "While adding to our total production in Norway, we have helped, alongside the operator and our other partners, to bring an important regional project to production on time and to budget," said Bernd Schrimpf, managing director of Wintershall Norge.

Aker Solutions Bags BP's Norwegian Contract

Aker Solutions won a framework agreement to provide maintenance and modifications services at BP-operated oil and gas fields offshore Norway. The contract has a fixed period of five years valued at as much as NOK 3.2 billion. It also contains options to extend the agreement by as many as four years. The accord starts on December 1, 2015 on expiration of an existing agreement for similar services.

DNV GL Oil & Gas to Expand in Norway

DNV GL is relocating its oil and gas head office in Norway from Høvik to Stavanger in order to be even closer to its customers, the company said. Local delivery capacity will be expanded in Stavanger and Bergen and operations will continue in Høvik, Sandefjord, Trondheim and Harstad. DNV GL’s operations in Norway are led by Regional Manager Marianne Hauso.

Statoil Invites Suppliers to Closer Cooperation

Statoil invited politicians, suppliers and other important stakeholders to Stavanger Concert Hall  to share challenges and increase understanding for the changes that are the inevitable outcome of tighter margins in the oil and gas industry. Stavanger Day, being arranged this year for the first time, is set to become Statoil’s most important arena for meeting politicians and industrialists in the Stavanger region.
