Renewable Energy: AWS Waveswing Put to the Test

Inverness-based AWS Ocean Energy announced encouraging results from the current phase of sea trials of its wave energy device at the European Marine Energy Center (EMEC) in Orkney. In a key highlight of the scientific testing programme to date at EMEC’s Scapa Flow test site, the Waveswing wave energy converter captured average power over 10kW and peaks of 80kW, during a period of moderate wave conditions. CorPower Ocean Debuts "Commercial Scale" Wave Energy

CorPower Ocean unveiled the CorPower C4, its first commercial scale Wave Energy Converter (WEC) and CorPack clusters, which the company contends will provide the building blocks for utility scale wave farms.Ultimately, the new CorPower C4 device will form part of a four-system wave array, off the coast of Aguçadoura, Portugal, creating a grid-connected wave farms.“This has been a decade-long development, with significant strides in the last few years to industrialise and optimize our wave energy technology," said Patrik Möller, Co-founder & CEO.

BLUE X: Mocean Energy unveils Wave Energy Prototype

CorPower Extends Equity Funding for Commercial Scale Demo

After securing a private placement of 9 million Euros, CorPower has extended its equity funding to 20.3 million Euros, for the commercial scale demonstration of its wave energy technology. The investment round was led by Midroc New Technology and included SEB Greentech VC, family offices and private investors. Renewable Energy: Wave Power Projects Takes a Big Step

Eco Wave Power has secured the engineering coordination permit from the Municipality of Tel-Aviv Jaffa (permit number 2020-3249) needed for the cement works and installation of 10floaters for the EWP-EDF One wave energy project in the Port of Jaffa, Israel.This permit allows Eco Wave Power to proceed with the actual installation of the project in the seaside of the breakwater, which shall include cement works for the breakwater’s reinforcement and the installation of 10 floaters, on 30 linear meters of a pre-existing breakwater within the port, having an installed capacity of 100 KW.

Eco Wave Power Commences Grid Connection Works in Israel

While wave power is still in its infancy relative to offshore wind in the renewable power space, several companies are making step changes that are geared to lead this power source to utlity scale. One Swedish company making the move is Eco Wave Power, which pursuant to the engineering coordination permit from the Municipality of Tel-Aviv Jaffa  for the deployment of the grid connection works of the EWP-EDF One wave energy project, has commenced the grid connection works in the Port of Jaffa, Israel.The grid connection works are performed in two parts, as they include different routes within the port.

$10.5m Funding for CorPower Wave Energy Tech

CorPower Ocean announced the award of $10.5m in new funding for it’s wave energy tech innovation, a funding round led by Midroc New Technology, with additional investment from ALMI Invest Greentech, EIT InnoEnergy and a group of private investors.
