Unique Group Acquires Oceanvision
Integrated subsea and offshore solution provider Unique Group, through its subsidiary Unique Maritime Group (SEA) PTE Ltd, completed the acquisition of Oceanvision PTE Ltd and Oceanvision Equipment Services PTE Ltd. on July 13, 2016. Now part of the Unique Group of Companies, Oceanvision Pte Ltd specializes in manufacturing and supplying imaging and intervention products for sub-ocean, marine, offshore and petrochemical industries for use in hazardous areas and harsh environments. Oceanvision is the third acquisition that Unique has made in the last nine months.
UMG Targets Diver Safety in the Middle East
Unique Maritime Group (UMG) has set up a Hyperbaric Reception Facility (HRF) at its facility in the Hamriyah Free Zone, Sharjah. Reportedly the first HRF in the Middle East, UMG said the system, which was purpose built by UMG division Unique Hydra, will be installed to raise the safety level for divers operating in the area. Wellube Supplies Seal Plugs for Pipeline Isolation Work
A division of Unique Maritime Group (UMG), Unique Wellube, was contracted by Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) for the supply and engineering of mechanical seal plugs for a pipeline isolation project. ADMA-OPCO’s 8” subsea riser was found to have some damages which would require a weld repair at the splash zone on the complex side. The plan was to cut approximately 1.5 meters of the riser till below the damaged area and weld a new spool in place. Since welding was involved, either the pipeline had to be free of hydrocarbon fumes or a positive isolation had to be created to prevent the fumes from reaching the welding area.
Unique Hydra Secures DSCV Contract from Ultra Deep Solutions
Unique Hydra, a division of Unique Maritime Group (UMG) an integrated turnkey subsea and offshore solutions provider, announced that it has been selected by Ultra Deep Solutions (UDS) to design, build and integrate the dive system for a multipurpose Diving Support Construction Vessel (DSCV). The new DSCV is equipped with a 300HD 18-man twin bell Saturation Diving System. The dive system incorporates the latest mechanical and electrical design requirements. The feature rich diving system offers a first in the drive towards reducing the complexity of shipyard integration and installation time frames.
