CGG Completes Perdido Subsalt Survey for Pemex

CGG has completed ahead of schedule an 11,500 sq km wide-azimuth (WAZ) survey on behalf of Pemex in the deepwater Perdido area. This new survey has been acquired perpendicularly to existing WAZ data and the combined Imaging of this first large-scale orthogonal WAZ data set is expected to provide significantly enhanced subsalt imaging results. A fast-track TTI RTM image for the first block of approximately 5,200 sq. km was delivered earlier than planned, helping to guide the client’s drilling operations.

PETRONAS Signs Contract with Schlumberger for Campeche Basin Seismic Survey

Schlumberger announced today that PETRONAS, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, PETRONAS (E&P) OVERSEAS VENTURES SDN. BHD., has signed an agreement to license a significant part of the WesternGeco Campeche wide-azimuth (WAZ) deepwater multiclient seismic survey in the southern Gulf of Mexico. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to expand our collaboration with PETRONAS in Mexican waters of the Gulf of Mexico,” said Maurice Nessim, president, WesternGeco, Schlumberger.

CGG Launches Shallow Reservoir Imaging Solution

CGG announced at ONS 2016 the launch of TopSeis, the latest evolution in offshore broadband seismic, specifically designed to overcome the intrinsic lack of near offsets inherent in 3D towed-streamer seismic. Exacerbated by the use of progressively wider spreads to meet the industry’s quest for greater efficiency, the lack of near offsets leads to an inability to image shallow geological features, such as faults, gas pockets, channels and stratigraphic pinch-outs, effectively.

Schlumberger, Statoil Execute Multiclient WAZ Survey in Campeche Basin
