AAL Delivers First Cargo Shipment for PDVSA

Leading multipurpose shipping operator, AAL, has successfully delivered its first shipments of heavy lift cargo, destined for the Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) Puerto La Cruz Refinery in eastern Venezuela. Twin Dredgers for Canadian Oil Sands

Damen Shipyards Group has completed a construction contract comprising two electric-powered Cutter Suction Dredgers (CSD) for the Canadian oil sands industry. With both vessels built in Canada, the contract marks the close cooperation between Damen and Aecon, Canada’s largest publicly traded infrastructure development and construction company. Two newly-built Damen CSDs have commenced operations in Northern Alberta, Canada. The two 40.64-meter-long vessels perform dredging duties in oil sands tailings ponds.

AVEVA to Acquire FabTrol Systems

AVEVA Group plc announces that it has agreed to acquire FabTrol Systems, Inc. from the Dowco Group of Companies the acquisition is expected to complete by Friday 26 June 2015. FabTrol is a software business, headquartered in Eugene, Oregon with operations in North America and the United Kingdom, providing fabrication management software to the steel fabrication industry. The consideration of $6.5 million has been funded through AVEVA's existing cash resources. The acquisition is expected to be earnings enhancing in FY16.

Fire Shelters Enhance Safety for Offshore Gas Project

Three passive fire shelters designed to protect the control electronics of automatic emergency shutdown and fire suppression systems on offshore gas production platforms in the Arabian Gulf are being supplied by the outdoor enclosure specialist Intertec. Fabricated using lightweight composite GRP (glass reinforced polyester) materials, the shelters employ patented techniques to resist fire for two hours, allowing critical electronic safety equipment to remain operational.
