Gas pioneer Heimdal Turns 30

For 30 years the Heimdal field has been an important gas supplier to Europe and, together with Statfjord and Gullfaks, contributed to the establishment of Statpipe. Its anniversary is being celebrated with, among other things, the publishing of the field's own biography. The biography has been written by Lars Gaute Jøssang, Professor of History at NLA University College in Bergen. The Heimdal field has a long and exciting history.

Huldra Platform Recycling Contract Awarded

Hereema Marine Contractors Nederland SE will remove the platform and transport it to shore, while AF Offshore Decom AS has been awarded the contract for disposal and recycling of the platform. The Huldra field is a Statoil- operated gas and condensate field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, North East of Bergen. The field came on stream in November 2001 and on plateau the field produced 10, 3 MSm3/day.

Increased Norwegian Content for Johan Sverdrup Platform

Today, Kvaerner and its sub-contractors cut the first steel plates for the utility- and living quarters (ULQ) topside for the Johan Sverdrup field. The topside construction starts on schedule and budget. The Johan Sverdrup development is being executed with a high degree of Norwegian value creation. Kvaerner's efforts to improve competitiveness have resulted in a large portion of the work for the ULQ platform to be executed in Norway.

Statoil, Partner Submit PDO for Oseberg Vestflanken 2

Statoil and its partners submitted the plan for development and operation (PDO) of the North Sea Oseberg Vestflanken 2 to the authorities today, 18 December 2015. The development will provide in excess of 100 million barrels of oil equivalent. Statoil and its licence partners have decided to develop the Oseberg Vestflanken 2 covering the Alpha, Gamma and Kappa oil and gas structures. They are located around eight kilometres northwest of the Oseberg field centre.

Kværner Secures Another Johan Sverdrup Contract from Statoil

Statoil has signed Kværner Verdal on board for another complex steel jacket delivery for the Johan Sverdrup drilling platform, Statoil announced today. The contract, awarded by Statoil on behalf of the Johan Sverdrup partnership, is an execution of the letter of intent signed by Statoil and Kværner for delivery of two jackets for Johan Sverdrup located on the Utsira High in the North Sea, 155 kilometers west of Stavanger.

Johan Sverdrup Construction Begins

Construction work has commenced, at Kværner in Verdal, on the biggest industrial project in Norway for decades to come. Production of the first elements on the Johan Sverdrup project has begun. Kværner: Edvard Grieg Topside Ready

The 22 000 tonnes topside for the new offshore platform for the Edvard Grieg field is ready for delivery, in line with the contract awarded three years ago. Kværner 4Q 2014 Results

Valemon Topsides Installed

On Monday, July 28, the topsides were lifted into place on the steel jacket on the Valemon field in the North Sea. Produced by Samsung Heavy Industries this is the first Statoil topsides built in South Korea. The structure sailed from the yard on June 15 this year, and after a quick stop in Åmøyfjorden, Stavanger, last Saturday, it headed out to the field. The transportation to Norway took 40 days.

Statoil Awards Mariner Contracts to UK Suppliers

Statoil (U.K.) Limited has awarded the maintenance and modification services contract for the Mariner field to Aker Solutions UK. The offshore services contract has been awarded to Stork Technical Services Limited, also based in the UK. Aker Solutions will perform the services for the Mariner field under a five-year contract, anticipated to start in August this year. Stork will commence services in January 2015, also under a five-year term.

Kvaerner Delivers Eldfisk 2/7 S Topside

The Eldfisk 2/7 S topside leaves Kvaerner's yard at Stord today after being completed in April as planned, on time and to the specified quality. In March 2011 Kvaerner signed a contract with ConocoPhillips to deliver the topside for the Eldfisk 2/7 S integrated production platform. The topside was completed in April 2014 as planned, and will be towed to field in the North Sea today.
