AS Mosley, Fugro Get Funding for FOWT Tech

Aberdeenshire-based offshore simulation and analysis company, AS Mosley, Dutch Fugro, together with Strathclyde University, have been awarded funding from The Carbon Trust, to develop new technology for monitoring Floating Offshore Wind Turbines (FOWT). Seismic Software donated to Delft U of T

CGG GeoSoftware has donated its Jason and HampsonRussell seismic reservoir characterization software suites to Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. The donation of a full HampsonRussell suite and the renewal of an enhanced Jason package will enable students at the Department of Geoscience & Engineering to expand their theoretical and practical knowledge of quantitative reservoir characterization and inversion techniques.

Fuel Consumption, Emissions Monitoring Software Updated

As part of the ongoing Blue Star Delos Renewable Energy Innovation Project, Eco Marine Power (EMP) stated that the Aquarius Management & Automation System (MAS) installed on Blue Star Delos has been updated with new fuel oil consumption (FOC) and emissions monitoring software. This updated software combined with the Aquarius MAS hardware allows for fuel consumption data from all flow meters on the ship to be displayed and logged in real-time.

QINSy

Software design company Quality Positioning Services BV (QPS) has upgraded its hydrographic data acquisition, navigation and processing software package QINSy (Quality Integrated Navigation System). The latest version, 8.10.2015.06.29.1, includes a new feature called Hook-Up Operations for Anchor Handling, for pre-laid anchors powered by Orcaflex of Orcina.Traditional anchor handling, including showing the catenary, was already possible with QINSy.

Play Fairway Mapping is Key in the North Sea

Regional play fairway mapping is the key to locating remaining prospectivity in the prolific North Sea hydrocarbon province, according to the new Ternan play evaluation report released by global energy services company LR Senergy. The Ternan 2015 Integrated North Sea Report is the latest in a series of regional play fairway evaluations that analyze petroleum systems and provide exploration specialists with a unique insight into the regional risk factors that impact subsurface studies.

XPD8 Wins Contract with Tullow Oil in Ghana

Asset integrity management specialist, XPD8 Solutions, has secured a $564,000 contract for work in West Africa with Tullow Oil. Over six-months, the Aberdeen-headquartered firm will migrate Tullow Oil’s existing computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to the Maximo software package. The system will support planning, scheduling, performance monitoring and reporting of asset integrity key performance indicators at the Jubilee floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel in Ghana.
