Change of Ørsted Region Americas CEO

Ørsted announced today that David Hardy, Group EVP and CEO Americas, has decided to leave the company to join GE Vernova as Chief Commercial Officer, Wind. He will step down from his position effective November 30.The search for a successor Region Americas CEO is well underway. In the interim period, Ørsted's Chief Commercial Officer and Deputy CEO, Rasmus Errboe, will guide and support the experienced senior leadership team in the U.S.

Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s jack-up vessel Blue Tern on Sunday installed the final turbine at Trianel Windpark Borkum II offshore wind farm in Germany."The last big components were installed Saturday, and final bolt and nut Sunday early morning," Fred. Olsen Wind Carrier said Monday.Fred. Olsen Windcarrier was contracted in February to install the remaining 11 Senvion 6.2M152 turbines on TWB II (out of a total of 32).

Denmark's Vestas Breaks Wind Turbine Installation Record, Woodmac Says

Danish wind farm turbine builder Vestas became the first wind turbine manufacturer to install more than 10 GW of wind capacity in a single year (2019), according to new analysis from Wood Mackenzie.The Danish OEM’s grid-connected capacity of 11.3 GW in 2019 is an increase of 1.5 GW on 2018, with installations completed in over 35 markets. The company’s installations in the Americas region contributed more than 50% of capacity for the first time.

Serbia's First Large-scale Wind Farm to Start in October

Belgian renewable energy firm Elicio NV said on Friday its 42 megawatt (MW) Alibunar wind farm in northern Serbia will start operating in October and help the Balkan country diversify its energy mix and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.The wind farm, which has 21 wind turbines provided by German wind turbine manufacturer Senvion, is the first large-scale farm to connect on Serbia's grid.

MPI Installs All Turbines at Nordergründe

Following the successful installation of the foundations earlier this year, MPI has now informed that their wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV) MPI Enterprise has completed the installation of 18 6.2M126 Senvion turbines at the Nordergründe offshore windfarm. Once commissioned, the wind farm will have an installed capacity of approximately 111 megawatt and will be able to supply more than 70,000 households with power in a year.

Senvion Calls On CWind for HV Cable Testing/Commissioning

CWind announced it has won a contract to provide HV cable testing and commissioning for Senvion at Nordergründe.   The contract will see CWind provide testing and commissioning works at the 18 Senvion 6.2M126 turbines, which are being installed at the project within the 12-sea mile zone at the mouth of the Weser, about 40 kilometers northwest of Bremerhaven.

GE, Senvion Prepare Bids for Adwen

General Electric and German wind turbine maker Senvion are preparing bids for French wind power group Adwen, which is jointly owned by Spain's Gamesa and France's Areva, people familiar with the matter said. German industrials group Siemens is due to take over Gamesa's 50 percent stake in Adwen as part of its 1 billion euro ($1.1 billion) deal to buy a majority stake in Gamesa. It has also made an offer for Areva's stake in Adwen.

Centerbridge's Senvion Plans Frankfurt Listing in 2016

German wind turbine maker Senvion plans to list on the Frankfurt stock exchange in the first half of the year, the company said on Monday, taking heart from strong demand for wind energy around the world. Sources told Reuters in November that buyout firm Centerbridge, which bought Senvion in January last year, was preparing a listing with the help of JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank, potentially valuing the company at 1.5 billion euros ($1.65 billion).
