Pearl Petroleum, a company consortium led by Crescent Petroleum and Dana Gas of the UAE, has signed a 10 year Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to supply and sell the additional quantities of gas that it plans to begin producing later this year in order to boost much needed local domestic electricity generation. The GSA was signed on 30th January 2018 by the KRG Minister of Natural Resources Dr. Ashti Hawrami, CEO of Crescent Petroleum Mr. Majid Jafar and CEO of Dana Gas Dr.

Saudi Aramco's 2016 Annual Review Shows Changes

Saudi Aramco <IPO-ARMO.SE> said on Thursday its recoverable crude oil and condensate reserves slipped to 260.8 billion barrels at the end of 2016 from 261.1 billion a year earlier. Its gas reserves rose to 298.7 trillion standard cubic feet from 297.6 trillion, Saudi Aramco said in its 2016 annual review. The company said it had discovered two new oilfields, Jubah and Sahaban, and one new gas field, Hadidah, all located in the Eastern Province, the main oil region in Saudi Arabia, the world's top crude exporter.

Saudi Aramco Tenders for $500 mln Uthmaniyah Gas Treatment Units

Saudi Aramco has launched a tender to build gas treatment units at Uthmaniyah, sources familiar with the matter said on Thursday, in a project expected to cost upwards of $500 million. Top oil exporter Saudi Arabia is struggling to keep up with domestic demand for gas, used in a number of sectors such as petrochemicals that are key to diversifying the economy. The aim of the project is to recover ethane but also propane and other natural gas liquids (NGL) from 1.4 billion standard cubic feet per day (scfd) of sales gas.

Dana Gas Begins Production From Zora Field

Dana Gas, a Middle East’s  regional private sector natural gas company, has announced that sales gas production commenced on February 28, 2016 from the Zora Gas Field. Initial project startup was achieved on January 14, 2016 with early gas supplies being intermittent as the gas plant was being fully commissioned. Subsequently sales production was delayed due to urgent maintenance work on gas supply infrastructure at the customer’s receiving facilities.

Athabasca Cuts Output as Alliance Gas Pipeline Shutdown Continues

Athabasca Oil Corp has suspended the production of 4,200 barrels of oil equivalent a day (boe/d) of light oil, becoming the latest western Canadian producer to curb output due to the Alliance Pipeline natural gas mainline shutdown. Alliance declared force majeure on its 2,400-mile (3,850- km) pipeline, which delivers gas and natural gas liquids from western Canada and North Dakota's Williston Basin to the Chicago market, last week after poisonous hydrogen sulphide entered the system.

Long term gas sales agreement with Origin Energy Retail Limited (“Origin”) has been initiated for delivery of up to 139 PJ of sales gas over an initial eight year term Beach Energy Limited is transitioning to separate lifting and marketing of its equity share of sales gas from the SACB and SWQ JVs. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Delhi Petroleum Pty Ltd, Beach entered a long term sales gas agreement with Origin for a minimum eight year period commencing 1 July 2015.
